– Rivers chapter of PDP issued sternly warning to APC governorship candidate in the state, Dr. Dakuku Peterside
– The PDP alleged that Peterside planned to rig forthcoming National and State Assemblies poll
– The PDP also alleged that Peterside hope to use securities agencies to accomplish his plans
The River state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party has warned
Dr. Dakuku Peterside, the gubernatorial candidate of the All
Progressives Congress over what it described as consistent inflammatory
statement on the rerun elections scheduled to hold on Saturday, February
6.
This warning was made by the state chairman of the PDP, Felix Obuah, in a statement in Port Harcourt on Tuesday, February 2, alleging that Peterside had stated that all security agencies and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) were working with the APCs to write results and ensure that only APC candidate emerge victorious at the rerun poll, This Day reports.
The PDP chairman claimed that the APC governorship candidate made this statement during a meeting of APC stakeholders and candidates for the National and State Assemblies re-run poll at ESI premises, in Port Harcourt.
Obuah also accused Peterside of saying that since the Supreme Court’s judgment went the way of Governor Nyesom Wike, the APC has allegedly spoiled for war during the re-run election.
He disclosed that APC gubernatorial candidate was capable of fueling crisis in the state ahead of the elections, stating that statement further underscored the desperation of Peterside.
Obuah said: “The statements are therefore condemnable in view of the possible consequences on the prevailing hard-earned peace in Rivers State.”
He described Peterside’s statement as most uncalled for, undemocratic and a call for anarchy.
Meanwhile, in what looked like counter-claim,the Rivers state chapter of the APC had sent a Save Our Souls message to the inspector general of police, Solomon Arase, following the alleged uncovering of a plot by the state chapter of the PDP to embark upon the killing of some selected leaders of Rivers APC adding that it will begin the elimination starting from February 5.
