– Senator Gbenga Aluko denies attacks on Bola Tinubu
– Calls rumours of attack an act of manipulation
– Urges for unity within APC
A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti state, Senator Gbenga Aluko, has denied claims by some APC party members that he made disparaging remarks about Bolo Tinubu, the national leader of the party.
Some members of the party had Saturday, January 23, condemned Aluko for casting aspersions on the political relevance Bola Tinubu.
PM news had reported that Aluko while pleading that he be assimilated into the APC in Ekiti state said Bola Tinubu was already tired politically and was almost booted out of the APC.
But in reaction, Aluko, according to Vanguard, expressed shock over the rumoured reports that he attacked Bola Tinubu.
He said his statement was an honest remark on the resolution of a disagreement within the party which was misinterpreted and manipulated in the social media to set him against the respected party national leader.
He implored party members to close ranks unity within the party to sustain its foremost position in the politics of the state.
He advised party members to explore internal avenues within the party in resolving disputes, adding that taking internal crisis for resolution outside the state diminishes the credibility and stature of the party.
Meanwhile, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has reacted to report by Newswire, that he flayed the defection of some Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftains to the ruling APC.
Tinubu on Friday, January 15, said the report is a figment of the imagination of the platform’s reporter and a plot to cause disaffection within the ranks of the party.
He alleged that Newswire and a section of the social media are being used by the PDP for a concerted campaign against his person.
