2016 Guber Election: PDP loses members APC in Edo

– PDP loses about 1,200 members to APC in Edo state
– Sheikh Murktari Ilenoba led prominent leaders to defect to APC
– Sheikh Ilenoba said he saw ‘light’ in APC 
Again, the Peoples Democratic Party has lost its members to the ruling All Progressives Congress in Edo state as the chairman of Etsako Central local government, Sheikh Murktari llenoba, defected with about 1,200 people in Udaba ward 8 of the local government.

Sheikh llenoba said that he took the decision to defect to APC because he has ‘seen the light’ saying: “I was the remaining oxygen of the PDP in Etsako Central but now that I have left the party, the PDP is dead and gone in this local government.”
Other prominent PDP leaders that defected to the APC alongside Sheikh llenoba include Isaac Iyerimah, Agbata Godsdey, Alice Okwuofu, Felicia Eletso Omokhoba, Peter Alumhialo Ozimah, Margarret Ilageji Ayemoba, PF Abebe and Amina Okolo.
The defectors were received by Hon Lawani Damian, representing Etsako Central in Edo State House of Assembly, on behalf of Governor Adams Oshiomhole.
He assured the decampees of equal rights and opportunity in the party.
Damian told the defectors that APC is a party that paid premium on development and has attracted development to Udaba and Etsako Central.
The lawmaker added that under the APC government, the people of Udaba now have light, modern markets and schools in the area have been reconstructed and rehabilitated.
