Swaziland Coach,
Harries Bulunga, was all smiles after his team's goalless draw with the
Super Eagles at the Somholo National Stadium in Lobamba on Friday.
The coach, who said
the result was reminiscent of the Sihlangu's goalless draw with
Cameroun in a group stage game of the 1994 World Cup qualifiers, is also
hopeful that his boys will go one step better by beating Nigeria in
Port Harcourt on Tuesday.
An elated Bulunga
told the visiting media after the game played at the 7,500 capacity
stadium that his wards still had some surprises waiting for Nigeria in
the second leg.
Swaziland forced
the football world to stop and take note when they defeated Guinea 2-1
away from home in a 2017 Nations Cup qualifier.
"All we need is a
score draw to eliminate Nigeria and if you have been following us in
recent times, you will know that we play better away from home," he
said.
Bulunga
acknowledges that Tuesday's game would be more difficult than the first
leg, especially with the expected absence of their inspirational
veterans, Felix Badenhorst and Mxolisi Lukhele.
"We played well but didn't have good combination in the second half, especially following Felix Badenrhorst's injury.
"I am crossing my fingers that Felix and Mxolisi Lukhele recover in time for the return match.
"I believe we can
do well in Nigeria considering our good away record. We are not going
there as tourists but we are going to fight," he said.
Meanwhile, the
Sihlangu delegation will arrive in Port Harcourt this morning aboard an
Arik Air flight, officials of the team have said.
