AKWA United players and officials will be rewarded with car gifts by
the state government for winning their first Federation Cup.
The Promise Keepers won a historic first Federation Cup yesterday at
the Teslim Balogun Stadium edging out Lobi Stars 2-1 in the final.
A club source also said that Micheal Eddidiong, a member of the
Golden Eaglets squad that came tops at the last FIFA U-17 World Cup in
Chile, who is an indigene of the state, will also benefit from the
gesture.
“Each player will get a car for their effort in winning the
Federation Cup. Also Micheal, the Golden Eaglet player who made the
squad to Chile, will also be rewarded by the state government.
“The players were aware of this before they came down to Lagos for
the final and I believe it really motivated them to give their best.”

Akwa United midfielder, Abdulafeez Awakan, has been voted the Most Valuable player of the 2015 Federation Cup.
The talented star who scored the second goal as the Promise Keepers
beat Lobi Stars to win their first title was rewarded for his impressive
performance in the competition.
His teammate, Friday Ubong, also picked the top scorer’s award.
The forward scored six goals in the competition.
