  2. Nigeria's leaders desire power and then money. They spend little or no effort in solving the problems of the nation. They hardly care about the plight of the common man. Besides, they are hardly nationalistic too. They seem to to have borrowed a leaf from the Ptolemies of Egypt (apart from the first three Ptolemies), whose "aspirations to the throne were merely borne out of the desire to obtain power and exercise that power over perceived enemies." Monica Omoye Aneni. (2016) Politics of the Ptolemaic Dynasty. Ogirisi: a new journal of African studies vol 12. pp 146-169.

Nigerians, need to begin to navigate away from this narrative and propel herself to a nationalistic and purpose-driven narrative devoid of nepotism, corruption, aparthy, disunity etc. Until, then,Nigeria's leaders would continue to desire leadership for power and money for a country's leaders are from the people.
