Save APC from selfish politicians - Baraje tells Buhari

– Abubakar Kawu Baraje says it is time for President Buhari to start playing politics and save the APC from the hands of a few selfish people
– Accuses some self-centred leaders of the APC of fostering impunity, lawlessness and divisive tendencies in the party
– Says the divisions in the party resulted in APC losing in many states where rerun elections had taken place
A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji Abubakar Kawu Baraje has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to address some issues in the party to avoid the party from imminent collapse.

Baraje who is a founding member of the party said it was time for Buhari to start playing politics and save the party from the hands of a few people who view themselves as more important than every other member of the party, Daily Trust reports.
Speaking to journalist yesterday, April 10 in Illorin, Baraje lamented that the factors that led to the factionalisation of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its eventual collapse were gradually creeping into the APC.
He accused some self-centred leaders of the APC of fostering impunity, lawlessness and divisive tendencies in the party, noting this had resulted in APC losing in many states where rerun elections had taken place.

“Most of the distractions were created by APC itself. For instance, the Senate president, Dr. Bukola Saraki, who heads an important arm of government, is not getting the necessary support from the party because a few people think they are more important than others,” he said.
Meanwhile, Muhammadu Buhari has received more endorsement for his second presidential term in 2019.
Taraba state chapter of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) included this in the 11 resolutions unanimously agreed by the shareholders of the party at a meeting convened at the weekend in the state.
