On the front page of Vanguard newspaper is a report on the embattled Lagos lawyer, Rickey Tarfa, SAN, who denied any under counter dealing with Justice Hyeladzira Nganjiwa of a Federal High Court, Lagos as alleged by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.
In a statement by his law firm, Rickey Tarfa and Co, by the Head of Chambers, Mr. John Odubela, in reaction to the new 27-count charge, which was even yet to be served on Tarfa, noted that “The Chambers have cause to once more react to the malicious trial by media of Rickey Tarfa by the EFCC.
“Trial are never won on the pages of newspapers, the airwaves and on online platforms. The recent 27-count charge allegedly filed against Tarfa, by EFCC is not only laughable because as at the time of issuing this press statement, Tarfa, is yet to be served with the charge. “The media is however, abashed with details of the said charge.”

The lead story in Punch newspaper is a report that the family of the late minister of state for Labour, James Ocholi is suspecting foul play in the death of the Kogi born man.
The family members believed that the driver of a car that somersaulted several times would ordinarily be unconscious and would not take photographs of the deceased and upload them on social media.
They also contended that the driver and the orderly should have cordoned off the place and evacuated the corpses as this had been the tradition whenever a VIP was involved in an accident.
Aliu said, “Distinguished Senator Ngige, I know you very well. When James Ocholi was told to work with you, I knew he was in good hands because the last time I saw you was in Anambra State. We ate with you in your house as a governor.
“This man that just died is not a lone person. We leave this responsibility in your care. Whoever recruited the driver and posted (redeploy) him should be investigated. It can happen to anybody, it can happen to any minister. It can happen because it has happened.
