The national leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has approved the appointment of some aides to the national chairman of the party, Senator Ali Modu-Sheriff.
Barrister Inusa Mohammed was appointed as principal secretary, while Chief Uche Nnaji was appointed as the political adviser to the national chairman.
Also approved were Senator Saidu Umar Kumo, the special adviser on National Assembly relations and Senator Ighoyota Amori (JP), the special adviser on reconciliation and conflict management.
This was contained in a statement issued on Wednesday, February 2, in Abuja, by Prof. Adewale Oladipo, the PDP’s national secretary.
All the appointments take immediate effect.
On February 25 the party approved the appointment of Hon. Inuwa Bwala as the special assistant (media) and Shettima Shehu as the special assistant (special duties). Sheriff now has six aides. Sheriff was appointed as the new acting national chairman of the PDP on February 16. His appointment has been strongly criticised and some called for his resignation.
